339/365 - Green Anole

This was an absolutely teeny lizard I found on our patio (and then followed to a Mexican petunia.)

315/365 - Hang On!

I just happened to see this little lizard hanging on to one of our wind chimes when I let the dogs out for a walk. (Still not cool and dry enough to tempt me out very often for any length of time. Maybe in another month...)

I've seen lizards on the wind chimes before, once or twice, but this is the first time I chanced to have the camera with me.

300/365 - Lizard

I haven't seen as many of these little green lizards, lately. Of course, that may just be because I don't spend much time outside, and when I am out, I'm usually throwing frisbees for the dogs-- not lounging on the patio. There are still at least a few of these lizards around, though, as well as a couple of hummingbirds visiting our feeders.

288/365 - Skink

I've been seeing this little skink with the bright blue tail every now and then, this season. I love the colors on these things! I don't know if you can tell from this photo, but the lines that run along the body gradually shift from orange (on the head) through yellow and green to blue (the tail). Very vibrant little creatures!

40/365 - Lizard on a Curving Stalk

It was the unusual curve of part of this plant that caught my eye-- and then when I looked closer I was surprised to see a tiny lizard resting there!

I took this photo (and the others from today) in RAW format (as opposed to JPG, which is what I generally use). I didn't see much difference between the RAW & JPG, today, but that's probably due to my not knowing what I'm doing yet. . . Well, there's always something new to learn, but I guess that's a good thing. ;o)

Editing: (Some editing in Bridge, before I even opened it in Photoshop-- mostly increasing the exposure to counteract the excessive darkness.) Crop, Resize, Unsharp Mask, & Curves.

15/365 - I See You

These green anoles are common in our yard.  One day we spotted five at one time clinging here and there around the patio.  Fortunately, they're not frightening.  In fact, I'll even go so far as to say that I like them (though I felt a twinge of "how dare you" when one ate a butterfly before my very eyes).  At least they give us something to look at, out there.  ;o)

This little lizard was particularly tiny.  For reference, the wood he (?) is on is a (roughly) 1.25" x 1.25" baluster on our patio railing.  I wonder if these teensy lizards we've been seeing hatched out of those tiny eggs I found a while ago. . .

Most of the time, these lizards are fairly bold.  They don't mind being looked at or photographed.  (Or maybe they just think they've blended in so well that we can't see them. (g))  This one, on the other hand, was very camera-shy.  He made a few trips around the baluster in attempts to avoid me and (as you can see here) sometimes gave me a look.  ("Mind your own business, won't you?  Can't you see I'm busy here?")  

Editing:  Cropped, Curves (to lighten), Spot-Healing Tool (to clean up some spots of dirt on the wood), and Unsharp Mask.  Oh, and resized, of course.  I think every single photo in this project will have been resized (usually right after cropping), so just take that step for granted, if you're keeping up with the editing information.  (I doubt many people are interested in this part of the project, but I thought I might as well make editing notes for my own benefit.)
