140/365 - Moo

Moo

(They weren't actually mooing at the time, though.)

I spied a handful (which is maybe an odd choice of words considering that I'm talking about cattle here) of cows munching lazily in the neighboring pasture.  I may have mentioned that I like cows from a distance, when I'm not responsible for them. A cow in a pasture drenched with late afternoon sun is even better.

I had intended to use one of these cow photos as my first try at HDR (high dynamic range) photography, but that didn't pan out. (I didn't understand how the bracketing worked on our camera. Oops.) Maybe next time. . .

42/365 - Munching Moo-ers

Munching Moo-ers

I wasn't the only one out enjoying a warm and sunny afternoon. ;o)

These cows are sometimes out in the pasture to our south, giving us something nice to look at. Cows-- when you don't have to take care of them, especially (g)-- lend such a pleasant pastoral appeal to a place. (This is mostly true when there aren't too many of them in one place. The smell of manure is somewhat less than pleasant or appealing.)
