141/365 - First Try at HDR. . .
So far, I'm not blown away, nor will I be blowing away others with HDR (high dynamic range) photos of this caliber. No "mad HDR skillz" here. Or in other words, there's still a lot of room for improvement.
Oh well, I shouldn't expect to be do a wonderful job on my very first try, I guess. At least I'm trying something new. :o)
140/365 - Moo
(They weren't actually mooing at the time, though.)
I spied a handful (which is maybe an odd choice of words considering that I'm talking about cattle here) of cows munching lazily in the neighboring pasture. I may have mentioned that I like cows from a distance, when I'm not responsible for them. A cow in a pasture drenched with late afternoon sun is even better.
I had intended to use one of these cow photos as my first try at HDR (high dynamic range) photography, but that didn't pan out. (I didn't understand how the bracketing worked on our camera. Oops.) Maybe next time. . .

20/365 - Fluff
This is an anonymous back-lit grassy weed.
I have a certain fondness for back-lit grassy weeds-- particularly when the back lighting is the late afternoon sun. They remind me of sun-warmed autumn afternoons fading into evenings with just the right edge of chill. They seem to epitomize the safe, cozy feeling I associate with this time of year.
Editing: I think I "Ortonized" this one. (I've written about "my" ortonizing process before, on my regular blog.)
