245/365 - Blur Man
Look! On the easement! It's a car! It's a bicycle! No, it's Blur Man!
...Or maybe it's Donald doing some running.
...Yeah, probably just Donald doing some running. Oh well, never mind. Sorry for bothering you all for nothing...

218/365 - New Neighbors
My parents' new house is still not quite finished, but it's further along than it was when I took this photo (May 20th), and it's only a matter of days/weeks, now! Every now and then, we walk over to have a look at the progress, though we go less often now that all the big stuff is done (and the heat, humidity, and weeds of summer make it less pleasant to walk).
(This is the back of the house, by the way.)

184/365 - Faux Vintage Donald
I don't think Donald knew I took this one, and I wouldn't have chosen it for Project 365, but apparently I didn't take any other photos for this day. (Oops.)
I decided to play around with this one and try to give it the feeling of an old, poor quality photo-- which is, I know, kind of an odd choice, since he's using a laptop. . . That's supposed to make it humorous. (???)
I didn't follow any tutorial, and I'm really not sure how well I did, but at least I think it looks older than it did straight out of the camera.
183/365 - Anh, Anh, Anhhh
Donald was trying to teach Trixie to do the trick where the dog leaves a treat on his/her nose/muzzle until given the OK to eat it.
. . . I think she still needs work on that one. (g)
180/365 - Out for a Walk
Can you tell I got burned out on this project? (Like the fact that I'm almost a month behind on posting them wasn't enough of a clue. (g))
This is Donald walking along the edge of my parents' clearing. We were going to take some photos of the progress on the house. (That's another big photo project I need to get busy editing and uploading!)

130/365 - Dominion
. . .Reading the rules for a new game-- Dominion. We've only played it once, so far, but it's promising. It definitely seems like one of those games that can be different every time you play it.
(The game was a birthday gift from Donald. :o))

123/365 - Preparing to Paint
Yesterday, we put up the first coat of our new color ("Oatbran") for our bathroom.
The old color was never quite what I'd hoped it would be, and for the price of a gallon of paint (and some time and effort), it was worth making a switch. The new color looks great already, though it still needs a second coat.
(It really needed some touching up, anyway-- especially after a little damage from the storm last March, when we had those leaks in our roof. . .)

104/365 - Bathtime for Trixie
There's something out in the yard that Trixie gets into, every so often. It's happened a few times, now. We can always tell when she's rediscovered it, because it just so happens to be a STINKY something. We've tried just wiping the stinky spot (on her neck, usually) with some doggy wet-wipes. That helps, but she still stinks a little for a day or two. This time, we ended up just giving her a quick bath.
She hadn't had one in a long time. Eskies don't really seem to need bathing very often. (As I've mentioned before, they are almost miraculously self-cleaning.) Trixie didn't enjoy this bath very much, but she behaved fairly well. She had that unmistakable "wet dog smell" for a while afterward, but now there's nothing but the faint perfume of shampoo.
Ah, so much better! I wonder what she's getting into that stinks so much, though... Probably don't really want to know...(g)

102/365 - Deliberation
(It looks more complicated than it is.)
Donald and I played Carcassonne, Sunday afternoon. We've yet to have an opportunity to play this game with more than just the two of us. Having more than two players is sure to require different strategies. One of these days...

101/365 - Baby Turtle
I found this baby turtle while we walked Saturday afternoon. (I very nearly stepped on it!) S/he was turned upside down in the middle of the trail. Donald picked it up and moved it off the path.
Comparing the photos to some found online, I think it's a baby box turtle. We don't see turtles that often. I think we've found one (full-grown) box turtle in our yard before, and that's it, so it was a treat to find this tiny one.

86/365 - Walking on a Cold Day
We went for a walk with the dogs this afternoon, despite the cold. (According to the forecast, it wasn't supposed to hit 40 today. That's pretty cold, by our standards.)
I think I prefer being inside...

70/365 - Christmas Baking
Donald baked a small batch of Lucia katter ("Lucia cats"-- saffron-flavored buns) last night. They're a traditional Christmastime treat in Sweden, and now they're one of our Christmas traditions, too.
I forgot to take any photos of the finished product, but I'll try to do that before they're all gone. We sampled them, and they were just as good as they usually are. :o)

60/365 - Donald
Donald was trying out the other camera.
If we aren't already, we will soon be all set, as far as photos of one another holding cameras are concerned.
(Only 305 days to go! ;o))

18/365 - Donald
Here's Donald playing the guitar on the patio this afternoon. :o)
I used this tutorial (and a little fiddling around of my own) to convert a color image to this approximation of an old black and white photo. There are (as you might imagine) many tutorials for converting color images to B&W. I don't suppose this is the best one, but it was one of a few that happened to pull up first on Google, so I gave it a try. I'm not sure I like the addition of grain (noise). Also, it seems that this person's method of darkening the edge of the photo isn't any better than the one I've been using, so I'll probably stick to that one. . . I used a different method (plus more of my own ideas) on the same photo-- this time without the noise-- and that one is also on my Flickr photostream. I couldn't decide which I preferred, so I went with this first one.
