238/365 - Triximo

Every now and then, I try to get a good photo of one of the dogs with the wide angle lens. So far, it's proven difficult. To get the really good distortion I want, you need to be right in the dog's face, but when I put a camera that close to our dogs, they either turn away or come forward and threaten to get wet dog nose all over the lens. It's going to take some patience and luck...

Every now and then, she likes to dig in the dirt-- and dampness is no deterrent.

Good thing she's (mostly) self-cleaning!

184/365 - Faux Vintage Donald

I don't think Donald knew I took this one, and I wouldn't have chosen it for Project 365, but apparently I didn't take any other photos for this day. (Oops.)

I decided to play around with this one and try to give it the feeling of an old, poor quality photo-- which is, I know, kind of an odd choice, since he's using a laptop. . . That's supposed to make it humorous. (???)

I didn't follow any tutorial, and I'm really not sure how well I did, but at least I think it looks older than it did straight out of the camera.

180/365 - Out for a Walk

Can you tell I got burned out on this project? (Like the fact that I'm almost a month behind on posting them wasn't enough of a clue. (g))

This is Donald walking along the edge of my parents' clearing. We were going to take some photos of the progress on the house. (That's another big photo project I need to get busy editing and uploading!)

The rippling continues apace (by my standards, at least). I find it relaxing to do a row or so at night while listening to the late local news or the mp3 player.

(Incidentally, after taking this photo-- and a few rejects of similar pose-- I realized that I'd skipped part of the repeat and had to go back a few stitches. Oops!)

134/365 - Trixie with a Toy

I believe I've actually gone a couple weeks in this project without a dog photo! Something had to be done about that. (Too bad this one's not better, though...)

130/365 - Dominion

. . .Reading the rules for a new game-- Dominion. We've only played it once, so far, but it's promising. It definitely seems like one of those games that can be different every time you play it.

(The game was a birthday gift from Donald. :o))

129/365 - Hard at Work

Here are Mom and Dad working to level out the crawlspace before it's enclosed.

They worked on it Saturday morning and afternoon. We had a birthday lunch at Granny and Grandpa L.'s that day, and afterward, several went out to help a while with the leveling.

(It was a beautiful, warm afternoon-- and then an honest-to-goodness dirt devil came right across us. Exciting!)

123/365 - Preparing to Paint

Yesterday, we put up the first coat of our new color ("Oatbran") for our bathroom.

The old color was never quite what I'd hoped it would be, and for the price of a gallon of paint (and some time and effort), it was worth making a switch. The new color looks great already, though it still needs a second coat. 

(It really needed some touching up, anyway-- especially after a little damage from the storm last March, when we had those leaks in our roof. . .)

113/365 - Trixie Triptych

Trixie loves her Nylabone! I probably never would have bought one, but Donald did, and it was a hit. This is her second Nylabone (wolf size, regular flavor). The first one's still around here somewhere, chewed down to something that no longer resembles a bone. She gets hours of chewing enjoyment out of these things-- and Molly likes hers, too. (Not as much as Trixie does, but still.)

104/365 - Bathtime for Trixie

There's something out in the yard that Trixie gets into, every so often. It's happened a few times, now.  We can always tell when she's rediscovered it, because it just so happens to be a STINKY something. We've tried just wiping the stinky spot (on her neck, usually) with some doggy wet-wipes. That helps, but she still stinks a little for a day or two. This time, we ended up just giving her a quick bath.

She hadn't had one in a long time. Eskies don't really seem to need bathing very often. (As I've mentioned before, they are almost miraculously self-cleaning.) Trixie didn't enjoy this bath very much, but she behaved fairly well. She had that unmistakable "wet dog smell" for a while afterward, but now there's nothing but the faint perfume of shampoo.

Ah, so much better! I wonder what she's getting into that stinks so much, though... Probably don't really want to know...(g)

102/365 - Deliberation

(It looks more complicated than it is.)

Donald and I played Carcassonne, Sunday afternoon. We've yet to have an opportunity to play this game with more than just the two of us. Having more than two players is sure to require different strategies. One of these days...

Well, I've made it to the century mark in this photo-a-day project. Still not even a third of the way done, though. Maybe I need to hunt down my list of ideas for photos. . .

82/365 - Making Lemonade. . .?

It's inevitable, when you're taking at least one photo every day for this long.  You get a little bit lazy.

I decided to try a self-portrait or two, yesterday.  I wasn't really happy with them, but I never got around to taking any other photos, so today there's not much to choose from.  The solution, of course, is Photoshop.  (It's always Photoshop.)  Try to make lemonade with a real lemon of a photo.  I probably Photoshopped the life right out of this one, but at least I feel more comfortable sharing this than the original. . . maybe because it's not as recognizable as me.  (g)

Molly and Trixie had fun chasing (and chewing) frisbees. They always have fun, when frisbees are involved. In fact, it's one of Trixie's favorite words, sure to catch her attention whenever it may be spoken.
